Description:
This replica of a Porsche 356/1 "Gmnd" roadster was custom built in California and features silver fiberglass bodywork mounted to a modified Volkswagen Beetle pan with a steel tube frame. It is powered by a mid-mounted 1,776cc Volkswagen flat-four linked with a four-speed manual transaxle, and equipment includes fixed-back seats, a banjo-style steering wheel, 15 steel wheels with hubcaps, front disc brakes, a split windshield, and dual exhaust outlets.
Interior:
Inside, the cabin features fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in red with matching door panels, while beige squareweave carpets line the floors. The banjo-style steering wheel frames VDO gauges, including a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 4,500-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows 1,700 miles.
Exterior:
The Porsche 356/1 roadster prototype was manufactured in Gmnd in Carinthia, Austria, and featured a mid-engine layout, aluminum bodywork, and a tubular chassis. The fiberglass bodywork of this replica is finished in silver and is mounted over a modified Volkswagen pan with a tubular steel frame. The 15 steel wheels wear baby moon hubcaps and Altenzo tires that show date codes from 2013.
