We purchased this car from its long-term owner, who had cared for it for nearly two decades after purchasing it in 2008. During his ownership, he diligently maintained the car and kept an extensive log and collection of service records documenting the work performed. The car retains an impressive amount of its original documentation, including the Porsche maintenance book, owner s manual, factory option sticker, tool kit, spare tire, and extensive service records. It is powered by Porsche s legendary 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six, paired with the desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission. The engine sounds healthy and pulls strongly, the transmission shifts smoothly through all gears, and the clutch and brakes feel excellent. Over $40,000 has been invested in the car during the previous owner s ownership, with extensive documentation supporting the work. A major engine service included a comprehensive engine reseal and valve adjustment, addressing numerous areas prone to oil leaks and replacing associated gaskets, seals and O-rings, along with spark plugs and drive belts. In April 2007 at 63,136 miles, Best Motor Works & Sports in Gainesville, Florida performed a substantial clutch service, replacing the clutch assembly, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, release bearing, pilot bearing and associated hardware, followed by bleeding of the hydraulic system. The car has also received extensive brake, suspension and chassis maintenance over the years, including brake discs and pads, stainless-steel brake lines, brake fluid service, front shocks, CV boot service, engine mounts, tires and wheel balancing. A new alternator fan has also been installed. The car was recently brought in for a comprehensive full service, and the braking system was completely gone through, with the brakes inspected and serviced front to rear and the necessary components, hardware and fluid addressed. The result is a mechanically well-sorted 964 that is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Cosmetically, the car presents in its highly desirable Guards Red over Gray configuration and retains its factory Sport Seats. It is fitted with 17-inch Cup 1 wheels and Bridgestone tires. The car has a clean title and clean Carfax, with no known accidents or rust. The floor pans are notably clean. The 1993 model year was one of the final years of regular 964 Carrera 2 production, and only about 520 U.S.-market Carrera 2/Carrera 4 coupes were produced for the model year.
