| 1982 GMC Caballero Amarillo edition. Just about as original as it gets! The truck/car youre looking at has just 33,000 miles and is 90% factory original! Apart from the hood and roof having been repainted, the rest of the paint, trim, chrome and interior is all original from factory, and in excellent condition! Paint is glossy and smooth and theres absolutely zero corrosion on the car. All the trim is dent free, and chrome and bright work are brilliant still. The box dsnt even look like its done much work. Even the original wiper blades are in place (rubber inserts changed over the years). The curved rear window is also unique. Tires are in good condition, but certainly older as Firestone hasnt produced the FR380 since 2007. This set was installed in 2004 and look like they have no wear at all! The Amarillo edition was the luxury package and featured the two-tone paint you see here with deluxe exterior trim, Amarillo sticker, along with rally wheels and sport mirrors. Inside, it also featured full carpeting and deluxe trim, with lots of simulated woodgrain on the dash. The Amarillo was produced in low numbers and is one of the most collectable G-body Caballero/El Caminos around. According to info provided with the car, in 1982 22,732 El Caminos were produced, but only 2654 Caballeros were built. Of those, even fewer would have been the Amarillo package " possibly as low as 400. This one is well equipped with carbo box tie downs and side rails, tinted glass, door edge guards, auxiliary lighting, Halogen hi-beams, intermittent wipers, power windows and locks, light grey vinyl bench seat with arm rest, tilt wheel, cruise control, full gauges including tachometer, AM/FM stereo, power antenna, bumper rub strips, heavy duty cooling, bumper guards, and Air conditioning! The clock in the instrument cluster is even still ticking! The upholstery is in beautiful condition with zero wear and tear, and no cracks in the dash or door panels. Everything is in working order and the owners manual and other pamphlets are still in the glove box. The sales brochure and a copy of the original window sticker are also included! Thanks to that paperwork, we know the car was sold new to an owner in New Madison Ohio and was imported to Canada (Alberta) in 2004 with just 31,000 miles. Its only driven 2,000 miles in 22 years! All of the import and inspection documents are included. Behind the front seats and protective carpet drape are the original jack, tire iron and spare tire, which upon inspection show that theyve NEVER been used. The spare tire still has the painted stampings on it. Under the hood is Chevrolets 305 V8 with a 4-bbl carb, power steering and power brakes and everything is clean, stock and looking very original. The A/C system has also been retrofitted to R134. The only modification we can find, is that the car has had a dual exhaust system fitted (not a bad upgrade), as these left the factory with single exhaust.
