While most older trucks are put out to pasture after their tenure as ranch hands or construction laborers is over, a few occasionally get to experience a second life. Whether that be as a fully stock restoration or something more fun like this 1968 Chevrolet C10 LS1 Restomod, sometimes, just as in human life, retirement can be far more exciting. One look at its gorgeous blue-and-white motif and big 20-inch wheels mounted on low-profile rubber, and it's not hard to tell this truck is something special.
Inside, we find a color-matched blue-and-black interior. An aftermarket center console separates the plush bench seating. A six-spoke power-assisted wheel sits just ahead of a Dakota Digital gauge cluster, while the upgraded Pioneer AM/FM/AUX head unit also offers Bluetooth connectivity and a bit more modern entertainment than its predecessor. The old-school HVAC levers remind you how far this truck has come over time, while the Vintage Air setup makes them operate more efficiently than ever before.
Under the hood is where this truck turns from laid back to aggressive. A modern 5.7-liter LS1 V-8 sits comfortably in the clean and spacious engine bay. Professionally built by an HMS Race Team engineer and fabricator, this small block features a new BLK powder-coated billet front drive and serpentine belt, ceramic-coated shorty headers, and a new GM CPU. This LS1 does away with spent gases via a stainless-steel dual exhaust and Borla sweet-sounding mufflers. Power from that small block is then sent through a built 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission and a custom driveshaft before heading to the 3.08-geared 12-bolt rear end.

This 1968 Chevrolet C10 LS1 Restomod rides on a set of 20-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels shod in Z-rated tires, while power brakes, featuring a pair of front discs, stand ready to scrub off speed whenever called upon. We may never know what this truck's first life was all about, but one thing is for sure: this resurrected version is definitely a lot more fun. The only thing it's missing is an owner to enjoy the ride. Call today!
