Finding a late-90s Cherokee XJ that hasn't been heavily modified, lifted, or worn down by decades of hard use is getting nearly impossible. This 1996 Jeep Cherokee stands out as a genuine, unrestored survivor that has been remarkably preserved throughout its lifetime. The exterior maintains its factory finish, highlighting the clean, iconic boxy profile that defined an era of rugged utility. Inside, the cabin is equally well-preserved, featuring the original upholstery, dashboard, and factory amenities intact without modern alterations. Underneath, the chassis and mechanical layout remain in original condition, reflecting careful ownership rather than off-road abuse. As 1996 was a bridge year for the Cherokee line-combining classic body lines with updated OBD-II diagnostics and refined mechanicals-this example represents a sweet spot for usability and collectibility. Whether you're looking for a standout addition to an SUV collection, a reliable vintage daily driver, or a pure piece of 90s nostalgia, this highly original 1996 Jeep Cherokee delivers authentic survivor charm.
