There will be those who will say, ""There is no such thing as a 1975 13 window VW T1 Van."" Yes in 1967 the T1 was replace by the T2 van. The T2 is a very different looking vehicle. They would be correct if the van was made in Germany. It was not. It was manufactured in Brazil where the T1 van remained in production until 1975.
Other than using the T2's 1.6 liter flat-4, there are no significant differences between Brazilian and German made vans. The van we have for auction was built before Brazil required gasoline for cars have as much as 22% alcohol.
This VW bus was restored by Qualicar Comercio e Servicos Automotivious Ltda in Caldas, Brazil.
The documentation material provided by the restorer is extraordinary. There is an album that contains well over 200 photographs following a very, very rough VW van being turned into a brilliant restoration. There is a 17 page owner's manual (English) describing care and maintenance. There is a metal plated thumb drive that is held in a special metal box that contains more photos and 2 short videos of the restoration.
