Description:

This 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is one of approximately 850 examples produced for the model year and was built on January 29th, 1969. Assigned Kar Kraft number KK1238, the car was originally delivered to Tasca Ford in East Providence, Rhode Island. The 23rd car offered to the public, it is the first 1969 Boss 429 that was sold in Candyapple Red and is among the first 50 hand-built prototypes for the model. It underwent a rotisserie restoration between 2007 and 2009 by Randy Roberts of Muscle Car Restorations, Inc that included repairs before the exterior was repainted, reupholstering the black interior, and rebuilding the 429ci Boss V8.in 2024 the engine was removed and refreshed recently due to a minor cylinder head pressure leak into the cooling system. . It is equipped with its original four-speed manual transmission, a Traction-Lok differential, power steering, 15 Magnum 500-style wheels, the Visibility Group, the Interior Decor Group, an AM radio, and a heater. This Boss 429 is now offered with a Marti Report, judging sheets, restoration records, and a clean Pennsylvania title. S-Code Motor
Purpose: Early production engine designed primarily for NASCAR homologation purposes.
Features:
Semi-Hemispherical Combustion Chambers: Allowed for higher power output.
Magnesium Valve Covers: Lightweight and distinctive.
Internals: Heavy-duty crankshaft, connecting rods, and forged pistons.
Horsepower Rating: Officially rated at 375 hp, but widely understood to produce significantly more.
Intake Manifold: Aluminum single-plane intake.
Exhaust System: Early cars had larger exhaust manifolds, which improved airflow.
Applications: Typically found in the first 279 cars built.
T-Code Motor
Purpose: Later production engine aimed more at street use and durability.
Features:
Revised Cylinder Heads: Smaller ports and valves for improved street manners and reliability.
Cast Aluminum Valve Covers: Replaced magnesium versions for cost and safety reasons.
Lower Compression Ratio: Made it more suitable for regular pump gas.
Horsepower Rating: Officially the same 375 hp as the S-code but had slightly less peak performance.
Intake and Exhaust: Less aggressive compared to the S-code.
Applications: Found in later production Boss 429 Mustangs.

In addition the first 50 S motors as in this car were hand blueprinted and had even highter compression than later S motors. THey are so rare few even know about them.
