If you fancy '50s customs, just feast your eyes on this cool 1956 Mercury Montclair. Fresh from Port Richey, Florida, this incredible custom build has it all. Show and Go doesn't get much better than this. The previous owner spared no expense, spending over $60,000 in restoring this amazing Mercury. Performed over the last several years, the restoration/customization of the Montclair included the Raven Black PPG two-stage basecoat/ clear-coat paint job over the arrow-straight and rock-solid body that boasts an amazing wet-look finish. Check out the door jambs and you'll see that it was done properly, with the car completely disassembled during the restoration process. The underside is solid as well. The triple-chrome-plated bumpers and other chrome / stainless-steel components are equally brilliant and a set of 15 Billet custom wheels provide a nice contrast to all the black and chrome. Dummy spotlights and small, high-mounted sideview mirrors add period-correct custom touches while the hood and trunk lids have been nosed and decked, old-school custom parlance meaning that nameplates/emblems were removed for a cleaner look. Inside, the crisp black/white theme looks fantastic with the custom pleated upholstery. The original dash/instruments and steering wheel are in excellent shape and are supplemented with a trio of under-dash auxiliary gauges. A Panasonic sound system provides the tunes and a Lokar Genie billet shifter ups the cool factor. Under the broad hood is a 1970 Ford 351 4-barrel Windsor V8 that sends the power to the 9-inch Ford rear end through a C6 automatic transmission. Electric power steering and Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes add modern driving ease and safety performance, making it a pleasure to pilot this '50s cruiser.
