Known for their combination of sharp styling and strong powertrain choices, Buick's midsize Skylark usually offered a bit more luxury than its rivals. Unlike the rows of its Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Chevy cousins you usually see at a car show, a Skylark is a rare treat. Here we have a 1966 Buick Skylark convertible that has been beautifully restored to its original glory. The rock-solid body is covered in a Flame Red finish that looks amazing, as does the various chrome and stainless-steel trim. The glass as well as the supple rubber weather stripping is likewise in very nice condition. Note that the car comes with two boots to cover the top when it's down -- the original red one (which has a small hole) and a new black one. A set of chrome Buick Rally wheels fitted with radial redline tires add an emphatic finishing touch to this sharp Skylark. Additional feature highlights include a tilt steering wheel, bucket seats, console, AM radio and a power top. Inside, one could say the car has been over restored. Although Buick did not offer real leather upholstery as an option on the Skylark, the former owner/restorer went the extra mile and had the seats reupholstered with leather rather than vinyl. He also took the liberty of installing a '66 Chevelle SS center console. The end results speak for themselves. Under the hood is the powerful, matching-numbers 340 V8 engine, coupled with a 4-speed manual transmission. Power steering and power brakes add to the easy-going nature of this handsome drop top. Run through the gears and you'll agree that this Skylark has plenty of spirit. We can say without question that this is one of the nicest Skylarks we've ever seen, and with the 340 V8 and 4-speed stick, it drives as great as it looks.
