1939 Dodge WC-1 Ton 4x4 Truck
The 1939 WC series refers to a line of light military trucks designed and built by Dodge for the U. S. Army. While the WC series was formally introduced in 1941, Dodge began producing prototypes of dedicated military trucks in late 1939, with the first production models, (VC series), starting in 1940. The WC series evolved to become the primary light truck for the U. S. military during World War II, replacing the earlier VC models.
Up for auction is a 1939 Dodge WC-1 ton 4x4 truck that is offered as a shell. The frame and doorless cab are in good condition with some surface rust reserved for parts of the frame. A right front fender is hanging on for dear life and carries a headlight with it, and the left fender is sitting in the cab. There are driveshafts to the axles and leaf springs are still present. 16-inch wheels and drum brake components are also on the truck, and a gas tank is onboard.
