1985 Kubota BF400G Loader Tractor
The Kubota BF400G is a front end loader model, specifically designed to be compatible with certain Kubota tractors. It is known to be a pin on bucket loader that can be converted to a quick attach system. The BF400G is often paired with the Kubota L2550 tractor.
Up for auction is a 1985 Kubota BF400G loader tractor showing 4,724 hours, but the true running time is unknown. This tractor presents in fairly rough condition and looks like a fun project to us. It's obviously been sitting out in the sun for a while and there are no keys for this rig.
Exterior
Kubota's trademark orange paint here is faded, checked, and dappled with rust spots throughout. The orange on the wheels fairs in better condition having been shaded somewhat by their depth. Plastic components such as the steering wheel and dashboard are heavily faded and many soft materials are dried, cracked, and in some cases, broken. The seat is toast and the foam cushion now serves as the base for patches of moss. The headlights are missing or cracked and the front forks show heavy surface rust.
Drivetrain
The tractor is equipped with a 100.5ci inline three cylinder diesel engine rated at 24 horsepower. It's fuel injected and set into motion via a 2-speed automatic transmission. Much of the exposed engine shows surface rust and other forms of patina such as fading, but most components seem to be present. Drum brakes are reserved for the 24-inch back wheels only. A single exhaust has a muffler and exits via a tall stack in front.
