This 1967 Corvette Convertible 427/435HP was sold new on March 24, 1967, by Hechler Motor Co. in Highland Springs, Virginia, to Charles of Richmond, Virginia. Charles ordered this Corvette with nearly every available option in 1967, making it one of the highest-optioned L71 Corvettes produced. These options are documented by the car's original Protect-O-Plate and Tank Sticker (also known as the build sheet).

Charles remained the caretaker of this Corvette from 1967 to 1983, when he sold the car to Murphy, also of Richmond, Virginia. After a short period of ownership, the car changed hands once again in 1984, this time to Ernie of Corpus Christi, Texas, a prominent Corvette collector well known for possessing some of the finest examples of rare Corvettes.

Ernie took the L71 on the national judging circuit, where it achieved two Bloomington Gold Awards (1986 and 2000) and two NCRS Top Flight Awards (January 1986 and September 1986). Under Ernie's ownership, this Corvette was also honored as the centerfold car in Vette Vues Magazine's June 1987 issue.

The Corvette traded hands again in 2002, this time to Peter of St. Louis, Missouri. Peter owned the car until 2005, when Leroy of Austin, Texas, purchased it. Leroy kept the Corvette until 2008, when Charles of Ohio acquired it. The car was later purchased by Howard of Pennsylvania.

Howard returned the car to the judging circuit in 2011, where it earned another NCRS Top Flight Award. With only 38,622 documented original miles since new, one exceptional repaint, and a completely original interior, this is one of the finest examples of a 1967 Corvette Convertible available today.

Included in the sale are two binders of documentation, including the original Protect-O-Plate and warranty book, original Tank Sticker, all original books, NCRS awards and judging sheets, Bloomington Gold awards and judging sheets, previous state inspections, and various insurance cards, receipts, and supporting records.
