1971 Plymouth Duster, In-violet metallic with a factory 340 4-speed! Very nice car with some pretty cool upgrades. The original fender tag is not with the car, but we do have a rubbing of it, and a replacement is on order. At least with the information we can confirm a lot about this sweet Duster. Codes are as follows: VS29 confirms its a real duster 2-door sports hardtop, E55 confirms its a 340 4-bbl and D21 means a 4-speed from factory. The car now has a Tremec 5-speed in its place. FC7 in two locations on the tag translates to In-Violet paint both on the top and bottom from factory! LX4X9 " low grade trim, vinyl split bench with armrest in black, M21 -roof drip rail moldings, N41 " Dual Exhaust, N42 " Chrome Exhaust tips, N85 " Tachometer, R11 " 2 watt AM radio, V6X Longitudinal stripes in black, B51 " Power Brakes, H31 " Rear window defogger, J25 " 3-speed wipers, J81 " Rear spoiler Wing type, TX9 " Black velvet, V8X " Transverse stripes in black. VX8 EN2 " Tail blackout. Power steering has now been added to the car which makes it that much more drivable. Plenty of modifications have been added under the hood, but in a tasteful way. The 340 is now very rowdy with upgrades to squeeze out more performance. Theres a chromed set of headers, aluminum intake and new carb, plus Mopar Performance Valve covers and air cleaner. Lots of the bits and pieces have been chromed or replaced with billet/brushed aluminum replacements. The car now sports 4-wheel disc brakes and upgraded Mopar styled billet wheels and tires. Cal tracks have been added. Recently all of the correct decaling and stripes have been installed to match factory specs. Inside is very nice. Carpets are not factory, but a little order. Upholstery is in good shape. Dash has a trip meter, full gauges and that tach, plus an aftermarket tachometer and aftermarket accessory gauges. The pistol grip shifter looks great and displays the new shift pattern for the slick shifting 5-speed. The original radio is in place, but a modern unit with cd and remote is hidden in the glove box. The trunk has custom finishing and is very nice! The overall restoration of the car is top notch with great paint (painted bottom too) and nice chrome and brightwork. Car shows 92,000 miles, but with a 5-digit odometer and modifications, true milage is unknown.
