ECONS: Bavarian icons are classic BMW cars that were created in Munich in the 70's and 80's. Now, several decades later, they return home to be reborn.
Technology: Each detail of the 400V High Voltage system was carefully configured and tuned in order to meet the highest German industrial and quality standards.
This unique icon came to us from a sophisticated Sports Car Collection based in Texas.
The strict German TV was involved since the beginning of the process. Thousands of KMs of extreme testing brought up the prototype and models to the limits. Tests include Fast Charging up to 50kw, high speed and long distance run on the Autobahn and the most epic roads on and around the Alps at any temperature and climate conditions.
Only original equipment manufacturer (M) High Voltage components are used in the Econs and Elektros, achieving a unique driving experience and guarantee everyday usability combined with sustainability and pleasure. The driving experience is also enhanced by the finest components with real racing heritage. This allows the Econ to perform formidable with its low center of gravity, almost perfect weight distribution allowing for better traction.
Exterior: When preparing the body of the 2002te for the conversion, ECONS took a deeper look into the original vintage way of building cars. With better materials and wider knowledge, their coachbuilders construct the battery pack and driving unit mounts replicating the factory look and at the same time giving the needed strength for the new drivetrain.
Interior: The analog dials are custom built for each of the cars. Every analog dial and warning light was kept and is now fed by a digital signal from the Battery Management System and from the Driving Unit. A few tasteful and period-correct-looking upgrades to set the car apart.
A set of very comfortable, vintage-looking sport seats and a Momo Prototipo steering wheel with a custom leather horn button were added. The car also features custom analog gauges that match the 2002's original style, but feature EV-related battery information like state of charge, battery pack temperature, and power delivery.
With its superb build quality and exhilarating performance this amazing BMW 2002te is the definition of modern classic. Ideal for daily use, car shows, and club events with limited production exclusivity.
