This 1966 Ford F100 is a comprehensively modernized restomod with documented history and thoughtful execution throughout. The truck was featured in Classic Truck Performance magazine in July 2020, highlighting the quality of its build and the care taken to modernize the platform while preserving its unmistakable mid-'60s Ford character. The focus was on balance, drivability, and finish quality across every major system.
Finished in a two-tone Copperhead Orange Metallic and Wimbledon White, the exterior presents with excellent depth and consistency across every panel. The body remains faithful to original F100 proportions, with subtle refinements made to clean up the factory lines without altering the truck's identity. Details include shaved drip rails and filler neck, a smoothed cowl, and filled bed seams that visually carry the body lines cleanly from front to rear. Chrome trim and brightwork present well, and the lowered stance gives the truck an aggressive presence. The fully painted and detailed bed reinforces that equal attention was given to every area of the truck.
Power comes from a Keith Craft-built 363ci small-block Ford producing a dyno-proven 465 horsepower. Fuel delivery is handled by a dependable Holley Sniper EFI system, and the engine bay is cleanly organized with thoughtful routing and detailing throughout. A Bowler Performance Tru-Street 4R70W 4-speed automatic transmission backs the engine, while cooling is managed by a high-capacity aluminum radiator with electric fans. The chassis has been thoroughly upgraded to match the engine's capability. A Fat Man Mustang II-style front suspension replaces the factory setup, incorporating rack-and-pinion power steering and a front sway bar for improved control. Out back, a multi-link rear suspension is paired with a narrowed 9" axle with 4.11 gearing and a limited-slip differential. QA1 adjustable coilover shocks are used at all four corners, allowing the stance and ride-quality to be properly dialed in. Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes provide confident stopping performance, while custom tubbed rear wheel wells allow for a wider rear tire package. The truck rides on 20" American Torque Thrust wheels measuring wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires with 315mm out back.
Inside, the cabin blends original F-Series simplicity with carefully integrated modern comfort. A tan leather-upholstered bench seat with subtle pleating anchors the interior, complemented by matching door panels that retain manual window cranks and chrome handles. The body-colored dashboard houses restored factory-style gauges and a column-mounted shifter. Vintage Air climate control uses period-inspired controls to provide modern heating and air conditioning. A custom leather-wrapped center console adds everyday usability with integrated cupholders and an Alpine touchscreen infotainment system offering Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth audio, USB connectivity, SiriusXM capability, and a hidden reverse camera.
This 1966 Ford F100 stands as magazine-featured restomod that blends classic styling with modern performance, comfort, and drivability in a way that feels intentional throughout. It delivers the look and presence of a vintage Ford pickup without the usual compromises, supported by quality components, proven execution, and a level of finish that rewards time behind the wheel.
