Completed in 2020 following a comprehensive five-year frame-off restoration by B-MAC's Auto Restoration in Raleigh, North Carolina, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro has been transformed into a carefully engineered pro-touring build that blends first-generation Camaro styling with modern performance. The project began with a complete teardown and restoration of the original body and chassis, creating a solid foundation for a thoughtfully executed performance build that balances drivability, modern engineering, and classic muscle car character.
During the restoration the body was stripped and sanded before all compromised sheetmetal was replaced. The rear quarters were mini-tubbed to accommodate wider rubber and the interior structure was lined with Dynamat for improved refinement. The Camaro was then finished in LeMans Blue with painted black stripes, retaining traditional chrome and trim along with Z/28 badging in the grille and rear fascia. Updated headlights and Marquez Design taillights with LED illumination modernize the lighting, while a D80-style rear spoiler and aggressive front chin spoiler complement the car's purposeful stance. Forged 18" Fikse Profil 5S wheels wrapped in 245mm front and massive 335mm rear BFGoodrich g-Force Rival performance tires complete the athletic look.
Power comes from a GM Performance Parts LS376 6.2L V8 crate engine rated at 525 horsepower. Stainless Works long tube headers feed a stainless 3" dual exhaust system, while a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission sends power to a Moser 12-bolt rear axle with 3.73 gearing and a Truetrac limited-slip differential. The suspension has been comprehensively upgraded with Detroit Speed coilovers at all four corners, tubular front control arms, subframe connectors, and a Detroit Speed QuadraLink rear suspension. Steering duties are handled by a Detroit Speed quick-ratio power steering box, and braking comes from power-assisted four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors.
Inside, the Camaro retains its traditional first-generation layout while incorporating carefully integrated modern upgrades. Reclining Corbeau bucket seats provide improved support, while the rear bench seat has been upholstered to match. A fifth-generation Camaro center console has been seamlessly integrated into the cabin and houses the floor shifter for the Tremec 6-speed. The original dash design remains intact but now features Dakota Digital gauges along with a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit with Bluetooth capability. Vintage Air controls operate the modern air conditioning system, and a Momo 3-spoke steering wheel completes the driver-focused cockpit.
The result is a meticulously restored Camaro that pairs iconic first-generation styling with thoroughly modern performance engineering. With 525 horsepower, a Tremec 6-speed, Detroit Speed suspension, and massive rear rubber, this professionally built pro-touring Camaro offers the kind of balance, grip, and driver involvement that reminds you exactly why the 1969 Camaro remains one of the most celebrated American performance cars ever built.
