A professionally built 1959 GMC 100 custom truck, this SEMA-featured show truck represents a full custom effort by Delmo's Speed & Kustom of Arizona and was recognized as "Truck of the Year" by StreetTrucks magazine. This GMC 100 reflects a no-expense-spared approach centered on modern performance, high-end fabrication, and show-level finish. The truck retains its identity while benefiting from a comprehensive, professionally executed build typical of a top-tier custom truck and high-end restomod.
The body was refinished by iKandy Paintworks in PPG Toyota Gold, presenting a largely factory-appearing exterior with refined detailing throughout. Stock front and rear bumpers, grille, handles, and factory taillights were retained, preserving original design cues while integrating subtle upgrades. The short fleetside bed features a raised floor with a MAR-K wood bed kit, while original bed hooks and steps remain in place. This GMC truck rides on 22" Delmo's Falfa-style polished aluminum wheels wrapped in 255mm front and 285mm rear tires, giving it a modern stance that complements the original design.
Power comes from a Mullenix Racing Engines-built LS3 producing 525 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 4L70E automatic transmission. This GMC utilizes a Holley intake topped with a custom Evod Tri-Power setup incorporating EFI Auto Trend throttle bodies, complemented by frog mouth air scoops. Supporting components include a Be Cool radiator, SPAL cooling fans, Powermaster alternator, Drive Junky accessory drive system, Magnaflow muffler with 2.5" stainless exhaust, custom hoses, and wiring by Delmo's Speed & Kustom. The engine block is finished in gold, tying into the exterior theme. The chassis features Porterbuilt front and rear dropmembers, independent front suspension with tubular control arms and power rack-and-pinion steering, Bilstein shocks, and air suspension managed by AccuAir. Out back, a 4-link setup with an extreme C-notch works with a Currie 9" rear axle with 3.73 gearing and a limited-slip differential. Braking is handled by a power four-wheel Wilwood big brake package.
The interior, completed by Prescott Hotrods, blends period styling with modern execution. Glide Engineering seats are upholstered in 1959 Bel Air-pattern material, complemented by new carpeting and integrated sound deadening. A custom dashboard by Delmo's houses Dakota Digital gauges, while a 1959 Impala steering wheel from Truck Shop reinforces the era-correct aesthetic. Modern air conditioning with Vintage Air controls is integrated into the cabin, along with a Bluetooth-operated audio system featuring Kicker speakers, two 10" subwoofers, and an amplifier.
With SEMA exposure, "Truck of the Year" by StreetTrucks magazine, this custom 1959 GMC 100 carries proven show credentials. The involvement of Delmo's Speed & Kustom, Mullenix Racing Engines, Prescott Hotrods, and iKandy Paintworks places this LS3-powered GMC among professionally executed, top-tier custom trucks and well-known SEMA builds, while its combination of modern LS3 performance, detailed fabrication, and cohesive design reflects the level expected of a nationally recognized show truck.
