Description:
This 1986 Donzi Minx is a small boat packing a BIG punch. With over $120,000 invested and accompanying receipts included, this Minx was specifically selected for the build and received a survey prior to tear down, which will also accompany the sale.
The vessel underwent a complete repaint and full rewire. During the repower and refit, the transom and rear stringers were also completed. Power comes from a built 383 stroker producing close to 500 horsepower, delivered through an updated XR drive with a 22P four-blade prop.
Performance is impressive. This Minx cruises comfortably around 40 mph and, during current testing, reached 63 mph at 4,800 rpm. The engine is capable of revving to 6,000 rpm, and with further testing in better conditions, we believe it should easily approach the 70+ mph range.
We recently invested an additional $6,000 to make this boat turn-key for the next owner. Recent service included new EMI exhaust, all fluids and filters, impeller, spark plugs, timing adjustment, and additional service items.
Mechanical & Performance Highlights:
Power comes from a 383 stroker featuring 64cc heads, 10:1 compression, Keith Black pistons, and a marine performance cam. Over $17,000 was invested in the engine build alone, helping produce close to 500 horsepower at approximately 5,850 rpm. Supporting documentation will be included in the sale.
This Donzi is also equipped with Captain's Call exhaust, allowing the operator to enjoy a loud, aggressive exhaust note when desired, while also having the ability to quiet the boat down for docking, marina use, or more relaxed cruising.
Drive, Controls & Handling:
This Minx features an updated XR drive and 22P four-blade prop. It is equipped with updated Dana 500 trim tabs with LED indicators, allowing for improved control and visibility while underway. Steering is easy and responsive, making the boat feel confident and composed for its size.
The vessel is also equipped with a Livorsi throttle set, offering individual throttle and gear selection for a true performance boating feel.
Electrical & Convenience Features:
The wiring on this vessel was completed to a very high standard, similar to what you would expect to see on a much larger yacht. The wiring is properly labeled and organized, with relays installed to help support safety and reliability on the water.
Additional convenience features include onboard air, which is ideal for filling inflatable toys and floating rafts, as well as a fresh water washdown system.
Interior:
The interior presents beautifully and has been tastefully updated. It features SeaDek flooring in a faux teak finish, updated captain's chairs, and a low-profile matching rear seat.
