Here is a chance to own an essentially new 1968 Chevy C10 finished in an Orange and Ivory two-tone paint. Once an incredibly clean factory shortbed truck was sourced the restoration started by disassembling the entire truck down to the bare frame - which was then media blasted and finished in semi-gloss black. The cab was installed on a rotisserie where it underwent very detailed preparations including countless hours of blocking and sanding to be sure all of the surfaces were smooth and straight even the finish on the dash is a mile deep!
The decision had already been made to have a finished product that looked and drove like a brand-new truck. With that in mind a majority of the components installed on this project were either brand new or completely restored down to the last bolt. The entire underside is painted semi-gloss black including the floorboards new suspension and rear axle. Under the hood you will find new inner fenders along with a new core support again finished in the matching semi-gloss found underneath. Between the frame rails is a modern aluminum headed and fuel injected 5.3 LS V-8 engine. This engine looks like it was installed by the factory and moves the truck down the road with plenty of power to spare. This '68 has all new wiring from front to back and the engine utilizes a GM factory style wiring harness and ECU for simplicity and reliability. Transferring the power to the rear is a late model 4L60E 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission normally found behind this engine in the newer GM trucks.
Exhaust duties are handled by a custom fabricated dual exhaust system including V-band clamped connection points and tail pipes exiting under the rear bumper. The finishing touch under the hood is the Vintage air conditioning system blowing ice cold air controlled by the factory dash mounted controls to keep the stock appearance.
Looking inside you will find a gorgeous restored interior. The refinished factory dash houses a set of stock gauges heat/AC controls and a stock Retro styled modern radio! Additional items include a restored steering column with 3 spoke steering wheel new door sill plates new carpet shoulder belts visors dash pad and door cards. The factory bench seat features new foam and a gorgeous houndstooth bench seat. Additionally all seals weatherstripping felts and glass are new!
This C10 is a cut above the rest. It was built to appear stock yet run and drive like a modern pick-up. The finished product is the perfect mix of old and new and the quality is incredible.
