For Fox body Mustang enthusiasts, the ultimate 'stang is the one-year-only Mustang SVT Cobra. Produced only for 1993, the last year of the Fox, this ultimate Mustang had many unique features that made it cooler looking and a hotter performer. Highlights include its cleaner ground effects skirting, lined taillights, smoother rear spoiler, more powerful engine and upgraded suspension and brake systems. Here we have on of these Unicorns, an all original, museum quality example that has been pampered from day one and has amassed a mere 8,494 miles since it left the factory. Finished in Black, this Cobra is number 2,442 out of 4,993 total production. The body, glass, underside and wheels are expectedly pristine. The underside is so clean it earns our Lasagna Car designation, meaning it's so clean we'd gladly eat our Sunday pasta off of it. If this isn't a Time Capsule car, then we don't know what is. The interior is just as impressive; it looks like a page lifted out of the 1993 Cobra brochure. In addition to the front sport seats with power lumbar support and the AM/FM/Cassette Premium audio system, the Cobra features the optional flip-up glass sunroof and power-adjustable driver's seat. Under the hood is the Cobra version of the 5.0-liter V8 that cranked out 30 more horses than the 5.0 in the Mustang GT. Sub-6-second 0-to-60 times and a mid-14-second quarter mile were very impressive for the day, while the upgraded suspension (wearing 17-inch wheels) and four-wheel disc brakes meant athletic handling and strong braking came along for the ride.
