The third generation Dodge Ram was one of the most commercially successful trucks of its era, selling over 400,000 units in its first full year and nearly 450,000 the year after, setting all-time sales records for the brand. The formula was straightforward: bold styling, capable drivetrain, and a wide enough range of configurations to cover every buyer from job site to family garage. The 2008 model was the final year of that generation before Dodge completely redesigned the Ram for 2009, which gives this truck the distinction of being the last of its body style. This one has been built beyond stock with a custom two-tone red and tan exterior, chrome bumpers front and rear, a chrome grille, LED lights, and chrome running boards, and it turns heads in a way that a stock ST never would.
Under the hood is the 4.7 liter V8 backed by a five speed automatic with four-wheel drive. The 4.7 is a proven, durable engine that owners regularly drive well past 200,000 miles with basic maintenance, and it moves this truck with the easy, unhurried confidence that a full-size American pickup should have. Dual pipe exhaust gives it a stronger note than the factory setup and suits the personality of a truck that has been built to stand out.
Inside, the deluxe cab gives you the extra room that makes a truck like this genuinely comfortable for everyday use. The two-tone red and tan color theme carries from the exterior through the interior, giving the whole truck a cohesive, intentional look that someone put real thought into.
The third generation Ram introduced independent front suspension on the 1500 for the first time, a significant engineering upgrade that improved ride quality and handling compared to everything that came before it. A custom built Ram in this body style with full chrome dress and a color-matched two-tone is exactly the kind of truck that stands out at a show or on the street and reminds people why these trucks have had a following since the day they were introduced.
