We purchased the car from its long-term second owner, who bought it in 1987 and owned it for nearly 40 years. As it became more difficult for him to get in and out of the car, he ultimately decided it was time to sell. When the car was practically new, the original owner had Car Craft International in Oakland, California perform the Slant Nose conversion. The car was also fitted with a Kremer-style rear tail and Gemballa mirror, giving it the distinctive appearance it has today. The car is powered by its 3.3L turbocharged flat-six and is mated to the 4-speed manual transaxle. It runs and drives strongly, with the transmission shifting smoothly through all four gears. Recent mechanical work includes a transmission rebuild and new clutch. A 2012 service invoice from Gay Betz Enterprises in Saticoy, California documents the transmission removal and clutch replacement, including a new clutch kit and clutch fork.
