The highest praise we can offer any car is that it is "as new." In the case of this 2023 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package, thats literally the case. The ZL1 was Chevys blast at the Ford Mustang GT500, and by adding the 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package, you got a whole lot of upgrades to take the Camaro to the next level. Note the exposed carbon fiber hood insert, the carbon fiber rear wing, satin black hood wrap, and those gorgeous blacked-out 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. All that stuff gives the 1LE a unique look and improves functionality on the track. Finished in rare and desirable Riverside Blue Metallic, it looks spectacular in the sunlight and if a car like this can be considered subtle, well, perhaps this is it. It doesnt scream like Hugger Orange might. There are virtually zero signs of use anywhere on the car: the chin spoiler isnt scuffed, there are no nicks on the rockers from those super-sticky Goodyears, and the drivers seat is unmarked. Chevy isnt making any more of these and we can practically guarantee future collectability, so this is your chance to grab a very special example.
The interior is finished in Jet Black with red accents, with the seats offering grippy alcantara inserts to match the race-bred steering wheel. As with the bodywork, the interior is pretty much as-new throughout with zero signs of use. Virtually everything was standard on the ZL1, so you get the usual array of features, including climate control, power windows, locks, seats, and mirrors, cruise control, and a programmable display that will tell you everything you need to know when youre driving a car like this. Theres also a pretty powerful entertainment system with touch screen control, but once you hear that supercharged LT4 at full song, turning on the radio might just be superfluous. There are paddle shifters for the 10-speed automatic, which is admittedly faster than the 6-speed manual, and actually makes this track-honed weapon fairly user-friendly in the real world. Its kind of shocking that they let people just walk in and drive away with this much performance. And unlike some of its competition, the ZL1 comes with a full back seat as well as a spacious trunk, making this a supercar that you could drive every day.
The heart of the beast is a 6.2 liter supercharged LT4 V8, same as used in the C7 Corvette ZR-1. With 650 horsepower on tap, its ridiculously fast, yet it still carries the LS-motors legendary smoothness and reliability. Of course, this one remains completely stock and untouched, so it runs and drives like a new car, and you need to be sure its aimed where you want to go before you put your foot down, because things start to happen in a big hurry once you do. Theres a spectacular V8 rumble at idle and a ferocious wail at full bore, making this an apex predator out on the street. The 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package also added a special suspension with DSSV dampers, lightweight aluminum suspension components, and massive Brembo brakes at all four corners. As with the rest of the car, the undercarriage is showroom fresh and this car has never been wet, so it presents beautifully. All the factory markings and decals are still present and obviously rust is a non-issue. Those aluminum suspension bits mean you have to be very careful tying it down in your trailer (they WILL bend), but theyre also why this car has such fantastic reflexes on the track. The 1LE package also included those massive 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, which are finished in optional black with black lug nuts, and are fitted with super sticky 305/30/19 front and 325/30/19 Goodyear Eagle F1 radials that still have 98% of their tread left.
Documentation includes original books and manuals, factory window sticker, and purchase and maintenance paperwork. Also available at extra cost is a second set of black 19-inch factory forged wheels with less aggressive Michelin radials in stock sizes so the car can be more easily driven on the street.
