INTRODUCTION: The mid-year Corvette coupes are extremely desirable, and this '66 has a lot going for it. Gorgeous blue with a white interior, plus very desirable factory air conditioning. Great colors, great options, and one sharp Corvette!
EXTERIOR: Everybody loves the coupe design, and this is one of those rare exceptions where the coupe is actually worth more than the convertible- they made fewer of them, and they're incredibly sharp looking. This one has a nice looking body with very good fit throughout, the doors shut nicely and the headlights open properly. It was repainted in its original Nassau Blue, with the metallic laid out evenly and a smooth, glossy finish. Overall, the chrome, trim and glass present very nicely. It's sitting on a great looking set of knockoff wheels with reproduction Goldline tires, which really complement the Nassau Blue.
INTERIOR: The white interior with blue accents is extra sharp. The seats are new, including the cushions and upholstery, and the door panels look new as well. Fresh blue carpet runs front to back and is complemented by embroidered floor mats. The entire dash area looks great. The gauges work, it retains the factory air conditioning and original AM/FM radio, and although the shifter looks original, it's actually connected to an upgraded 5-speed transmission. The power window switches are located in the console as well. Interior lighting has been upgraded to LEDs, and the headliner and visors are also looking very good.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a warranty replacement 327 putting out close to 400 horsepower. It's equipped with a factory aluminum intake, Edelbrock carburetor, Mallory ignition system and finned aluminum Corvette valve covers. It also has the very desirable air conditioning, which has been upgraded and blows cold. An aluminum radiator with an electric fan helps keep the engine running cool. Overall, the engine compartment presents very well, with fresh looking components and some tasteful extra chrome plating that dresses things up nicely.
UNDERSIDE: It presents itself very nicely. It's been detailed, maintained as needed, and was recently inspected by our shop. The independent suspension front and rear is in great working order, along with the steering system. It has disc brakes at all four wheels with the e-brake hooked up, and a factory correct dual exhaust with polished tips exiting through the valance. Looking up at the motor, it's clean Chevy orange, and the transmission has been upgraded to a Tremec 5-speed. We installed a new transmission mount bushing and rebuilt the driveshaft, which leads back to a 3.73 posi rear end. The chassis is painted black, the floors are clean, and it still retains the fiberglass spare tire carrier.

CONCLUSION: We actually just acquired this Corvette from John Cena, who's a serious car collector. I'm always on the lookout for the right coupes, and this one has it- the colors and factory air conditioning. Plus, the 5-speed is a very appreciated upgrade if you're going to get out and drive it, which is exactly what you should do!
