Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this 2003 Land Rover Discovery, finished in a distinctive White and Black exterior over a Beige leather interior. With its upright profile, signature stepped roofline, and recognizable Land Rover styling, this Discovery represents the brand's long-standing reputation for combining off-road capability with everyday comfort. Its rugged appearance and spacious cabin give this SUV a distinctive presence among early-2000s sport utility vehicles.
Under the hood sits a 4.6L V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, a powertrain combination offered on the 2003 Discovery Series II. The V8 was factory-rated at 217 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, providing the low-end pulling power associated with Land Rover's traditional SUV design. Power steering assists with maneuverability, while power brakes provide additional stopping assistance. The Discovery's body-on-frame construction and solid front and rear axles reflect its emphasis on durability and off-road capability.
Inside, the Beige leather interior offers a comfortable cabin with a combination of convenience and traditional Land Rover styling. Power-adjustable seats allow for personalized seating positions, while air conditioning helps maintain a comfortable interior temperature. Power windows and power door locks add everyday convenience, and an AM/FM radio provides entertainment along the way. Driver and passenger airbags, along with seatbelts, round out the listed safety equipment.
An interesting piece of Discovery history is that 2003 marked a significant update for the North American Discovery Series II. Land Rover increased engine displacement from 4.0L to 4.6L, giving the SUV additional horsepower and torque. The model also received revised front-end styling, including updated headlights and a redesigned grille, distinguishing it from earlier Series II models. These changes helped give the 2003 Discovery its own identity within the second-generation lineup.
