This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle is a big-block street car finished in purple with silver stripes over a black interior. Built at GM s Kansas City assembly plant, it has been updated with a 496 cubic inch stroker engine, a Muncie 4-speed, and the brake and steering upgrades that make a car of this era easier to drive. The 454 did not arrive in the Chevelle lineup until 1970, which makes this a 69 carrying the displacement the platform moved to the following year.
The engine is a 454-based stroker combination displacing 496 cubic inches. It is fed by a Holley carburetor on an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold and lit by an MSD ignition. Long tube headers lead into a 3-inch exhaust, a setup built around airflow for a big-displacement engine. Power goes through the Muncie 4-speed manual to a 10-bolt Posi rear end with 3.43 gears and upgraded axles, a street-friendly ratio that gives the engine room to work.
Up front, the Chevelle has been converted to disc brakes with power assist, and it also has power steering and a tilt steering column. All of the weatherstripping is new, and so is the windshield. Inside, the black interior is supported by aftermarket gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and tachometer, keeping the engine s key vitals in view. It suits a buyer who wants a muscle-era Chevelle with big-block displacement, a four-speed, and the braking and steering upgrades already done.
