1947 Ford Super Deluxe
Description:
1947 Ford Super Deluxe convertible. Beautiful authentic restored California car. Stored in a climate controlled garage. Exceptionally nice driving, running as it should. Never any rust or repairs, was a frame off restoration about 12 years ago. My father bought the car and drove it locally and to a few shows. We have a small family collection and now we have decided to sell this car. My father has passed away and we are just selling a couple for additional showroom space. This is a car to be driven and enjoyed, it doesn't need additional work or further restoration done of any type. On a scale of 10 this is a 9+ car. Perhaps not a full concours car nut and bolt but extremely nice if someone really desired to take it to that next level it wouldn't be hard. We are located in Hastings, Michigan right next to an airport capable of even private jets. We are 27 miles south of the Grand Rapids. Michigan Gerald R. Ford airport if a commercial flight is needed to come and buy or inspect.

About the 1947 Ford
The 1947 Ford models were about the same as the 1946 models. Minor changes that were made include moving the parking lights to below each headlight, updated the hood ornament with a blue plastic insert, exterior moldings were made smooth instead of grooved, the dash in the interior accent color was changed from red to gold, hubcaps were updated in March, and the antenna was moved to the cowl from the roof. Note: the 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible was the "Wax on, was off" car featured in The Karate Kid movie. Here are some other key features and details about the 1947 Ford: Model Lineup: In 1947, Ford offered a range of models, including the Super Deluxe, Deluxe, and the Ford pickup trucks. The Super Deluxe was the top-of-the-line model and offered more features and styling options compared to the Deluxe. Body Styles: The 1947 Ford was available in various body styles, including sedans, coupes, convertibles, station wagons, and pickup trucks. This diversity allowed buyers to choose the style that best suited their needs and preferences. Design: The design of the 1947 Ford was still influenced by the pre-war era, with its distinctive grille, fenders, and rounded body lines. However, there were some updates to the front grille and overall styling compared to earlier models. Engine: The 1947 Ford was typically powered by a 3.7-liter inline-six engine, although there were also V8 engine options available. These engines were known for their reliability and durability. Interior: The interior of the 1947 Ford featured a more spacious and comfortable cabin compared to earlier models. The dashboard was relatively simple, with essential gauges and controls. Legacy: The 1947 Ford and similar models from the late 1940s are considered classic cars today and are highly sought after by collectors and automotive enthusiasts. They are admired for their vintage styling and historical significance as post-war vehicles. 1947 Ford in movies: The Green Mile (1999): In this film adaptation of Stephen King's novel, set in the 1930s, you can see a 1947 Ford pickup truck in several scenes. The truck plays a minor but memorable role in the story. The Karate Kid (1984): A 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible was used training, "Wax on, wax off!" It was gifted to Ralph Macchio after Karate Kid Part III wrapped. The Shawshank Redemption (1994): While the main story takes place in the 1940s, you can spot a 1947 Ford Super Deluxe in the opening scene of the film. This classic car adds to the period setting of the movie. Stand by Me (1986): Although the movie is set in the 1950s, it features a 1947 Ford woodie station wagon in one of the scenes. This classic car contributes to the film's nostalgic atmosphere. A League of Their Own (1992): This baseball-themed film set during World War II includes various classic cars from the era, including a 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible, which is driven by Geena Davis's character in the movie.
