This is a 1956 Volkswagen Bug that SMG just purchased from the family that had it for 50 years. The Grandson ended up with the car after the estate settled in Indiana. His information was that the car was fully restored, including a complete engine rebuild about 25 years ago. He also said it’s been sitting in the garage for just about the same time frame.
When we received this Bug, we did a complete check on it, repainted the fenders that had been scratched, and made sure the car was mechanically sound. This car is finished now and ready for sale.
The body on the car is very nice, but there is some filler showing in both doors. Apparently, the car was in an accident many years ago and when rebuilt, it was done under a salvage title, which it still has today. There is zero evidence of any damage from a bad accident.
All body fits are excellent and there’s no evidence of rust anywhere.
It drives like a dream and has decent power from the original 1200 cc engine. This Bug would not be considered a show car, but it will impress at any car event and can be driven anywhere. Salmon paint with two toned interior. The odometer reads 41,637, and it’s a 4-speed manual.
