LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1967 Ford Mustang “Eleanor” Restomod In 1974, scrapyard owner and independent filmmaker Henry Bright “H.B. Toby” Halicki wrote, directed, starred in, and did the stunt driving for a film titled Gone in 60 Seconds. The centrepiece of the movie was its climactic police chase. Following the theft of a 1971 Ford Mustang by Halicki’s character, the 40-minute pursuit through Los Angeles left 93 cars destroyed. As part of the movie’s plot, that Mustang received the code-name “Eleanor.” Unfortunately, although a sequel was planned, Halicki passed away in 1989 while working on said sequel, and as such it was never made. However, in 1995, Halicki’s widow Denise contacted noted producer Jerry Bruckheimer about the possibility of creating a remake of the film, and, following the success of the 2000 film starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie, the legend of the “Eleanor Mustang” rose once again. This iconic 1967 Ford Mustang “Eleanor” Restomod offered here for sale has undergone a complete build in a glossy Pepper Gray metallic paint finish with black stripes just like the movie car. The black interior features sporty front bucket seating with a flip rear seat option, black carpeting, deluxe trim, tilt steering column, aluminum 3-spoke steering wheel, retro style aftermarket radio and air conditioning. Under the hood sits a fuel injected Ford 5.0L Coyote V8 engine with power sent to the rear tires through a Tremec T56 magnum 6-speed manual transmission, an aluminum driveshaft and a Ford 9' independent rear end with approximately 3.55:1 gears and limited slip. Handling has been extremely improved with Heidts independent front suspension that encompasses an aftermarket front crossmember with tubular control arms. In the rear there is a matching Heidts independent rear suspension with adjustable coilover shocks all around. Full-length stainless-steel headers matched with a side exhaust system creates a glorious sound at full throttle! The Ford Mustang Eleanor is by far one of the greatest looking Mustangs around.
