2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited 4x4
The Jeep Wrangler is something like a Harley-Davidson. It's an anachronism, and should probably be a dinosaur, but no, it's still popular because it fills a need like no other vehicle. Despite its inherent design limitations, (we won't call them flaws), primarily balance and storage, the Wrangler delivers inimitable fun. Challengers have not been able to steal from the allure of the Jeep. The dynasty lives on, Jeep engineers have kept the momentum rolling by making timely improvements. Model year 2007 brought an all-new Jeep Wrangler that, (no surprise), looks just like the old Jeep, whatever 'old' Jeep you might be talking about. Exterior
This 4-door larger jeep tough guy is all wrapped up in Dark Cherry Red Pearl a beautiful color. All paint is excellent and the deep end of the pool, with no rust, and nearly factory perfect. Upfront the iconic Jeep grille has now been chromed. A front tire loop extra protector bar, also chromed, has been added and extra screen chromed lights are attached to this bar. In the black bumper's center more lights are inset into a wrap around chrome plate. More screened searchlights reside just in front of either corner of the windscreen. Billet marker light covers, chrome mirrors, door handles, hinges, hood latches, gas cap covering, tube step ups, tail light bezels and rear door and upper gate hinges, all chromed and shiny. The top is black and hard plastic, so it is very durable. Glass is tinted, and on the rear bumper is a stainless steel tow hitch receiver. The Jeep rides on 17x9 chromed Pro Comp wheels with BF Goodrich 35x12.50R17 Mud Terrain T/A's. This has also been the recipient of a 3-1/2 inch AEV lift. High and mighty.
Interior
Inside is miles of luxurious black leather coverings for parts of the door coverings and these box some stain aluminum edging on the pull handle. Also, leather is reserved for the high back buckets in front and a bench in back. These are near perfect and sport white stitching. On the floors is clean black carpeting covered with off road floor and cargo mats. There is a center console and it rises to the dash which contains an AM/FM/Navigation/XM capable stereo with touchscreen. Some satin aluminum knobs and vents pepper the black molded dash. In front of the driver are deep inset round gauges with shiny bezels and blue LED readouts. Speakers are placed throughout the cabin even on top of the central rollbar looking down upon the passengers. A white headliner is under the black exterior hard roof.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a very clean 3.6 liter VVT 24 valve V6 power plant fed by EFI and capable of 285hp. On the back is a 5-speed automatic transmission which throws power rearward to dual 4.10 front and rear axles. A Borla stainless muffler with dual outlets are on for the exhale.
Undercarriage
Underneath is so clean you could have dinner off of it! Here we see a Poison skid plate, sway bar disconnect and the 4 link with coil springs front and rear that have been lifted 3.5 inches. No rust, just power disc brakes all around.
Drive-Ability
This tough beauty fired right up and on the test track pulled no punches. All functions were working just fab and switching from 2 to 4 wheel drives was a breeze.
Overall, this snazzy Jeep Rubicon Wrangler is a definite high end build, is well appointed, looking great, and ready for any outdoor adventure you can throw at it. Add in the extra set of wheels and all terrain tires all under the wonderful Jeep badge, a go anywhere explorer...what say you Vasco da Gama?
