The Dearborn automaker made a variety of refinements to its SVT Mustang Cobra. With five new exterior colors, this clean example proudly wears the True Blue. Added to the exterior is the Saleen body kit with color matched ground effects and side scoops. With "SALEEN" engraved into the rear fascia and chrome wheels, this instant collector is ready for the road.
While the 2001 Cobra shares almost all the same components of the 1999, some changes were made. The engine block was changed from the Teksid block to the Windsor Aluminum Plant or WAP block while also getting revised cylinder heads. The T-45 transmission in the 1999 model was replaced by the 3650 in the 2001 model and this Cobra has been fitted with a short-throw shifter. The 2001 Cobra Mustang included an independent rear suspension system, raising the standard for muscle car performance. Taking that bar even higher, this SVT Cobra has been healthily tuned by BAMA Performance complimented by a cold air intake.
Inside, SVT gave the Cobra new, more-supportive seats and the center console and trim were redesigned. Options include a power convertible top, cruise control, an upgraded stereo system (original in the trunk), power driver seat, power windows, power locks, and an anti-theft system.
