About the 2001 Ford Mustang

The fourth generation of the Ford Mustang was produced from 1994 to 2004. It represented a modernization and evolution of the Mustang, incorporating a more refined design, improved performance, and advanced technology.

Introduced in 1994, the fourth-gen Mustang featured a sleeker and more aerodynamic exterior, taking design inspiration from classic Mustangs while embracing a contemporary look. It retained the distinctive long hood and short deck proportions that are synonymous with the Mustang.

The fourth-gen Mustang saw various updates and special editions, including the 35th Anniversary Edition in 1999 and the Mustang Bullitt in 2001, paying tribute to the iconic movie car.

In terms of technology, the fourth-gen Mustang saw significant improvements, with features such as airbags, anti-lock brakes, and electronic stability control becoming standard or available options.

In 2004, Ford celebrated the end of the fourth generation with the "40th Anniversary" Mustang, commemorating four decades of continuous Mustang production.
