Even though it’s a small-block displacing 340 cid, it can take down 400+ cubic inch big-blocks with ease. Building a B-Body 340 engine is the correct option for better front-to-rear balance. Plus, it’s always good to make a statement to let others know you’re doing it your way. It's probably mistaken for a mild but unassuming stocker. But when the 340ci fires up let the smiles begin. Horsepower and Performance sorry no dyno numbers, but it's hitting about 290 horsepower. However, most enthusiasts consider that to be a wild underestimation. Many argue it really makes more than 320 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. Transmission is 727 Torqueflite with a console-mounted factory shifter.
Differential is an 8 3/4 with 3.23 gear. The rumble comes from a dual Flowmaster outfit and a 2.5-inch exhaust.
