Representing the vision of its creator and many hours of planning, design, and fabrication, the one-off custom before you is a testament to one man's determination to design and create a truly unique automobile. William Phillips has had a passion for customizing cars since a young age and after completing multiple mainstream type builds, decided it was time to create a car from the ground up. From the initial idea, design, clay modeling, chassis building, body forming, and finishing, this car is truly an automotive one-off and a work of art! Dubbed the Tiger 700 Ultralite, this single seat roadster is ready to pounce!
Derived from the misty haze of imagination, transformed into real metal and rubber and carbon fiber, capturing the gaze of every onlooker as it goes. You will certainly not pull up next to yourself on a cruise night with this ride. Give us a call to make it yours!
Body:
Designed using a 1/6 scale clay model
Scaled the model up to a full size foam buck, then created a 17 piece mold of the buck
Body is carbon fiber
Body weighs 35lbs
Drivetrain:
Yamaha 700cc motorcycle style engine and 5 speed sequential transmission with reverse
Titanium exhaust
The wheels weigh 8lbs
Chassis:
Designed in CAD and stiffness tested on a 1/6 scale model
Thin wall chrome-moly tube space frame
Significant collision protection structure in sides, foot box, front, and rear
The life cell is isolated from the front and rear subframes to reduce harshness & vibration
The life cell weighs 60lbs
Suspension:
Suspension simulation software was used to design the front geometry
Cantilevered front suspension
Interior:
Panels are carbon fiber
The interior weighs 15lbs
Balance:
Most of the mass is low and pushed to the center of the chassis
Front cantilevered suspension lays the coil overs down flat
Engine/transmission are set low and toward center of chassis
